Purpose of Position
Function: To provide technical skills in the execution of established training programs to meet
organizational development goals for UTSA Academic Advising
Scope: Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing assigned training
programs that enhance individual learning and meet the needs of various departmental productivity improvement endeavors.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned faculty and staff training and development programs which
    meet departmental needs and increase trainee participation and learning.
  • Maintain appropriate records of training activities and
  • Assist in monitoring effectiveness of assigned training programs through appropriate measurement instruments. Recommend
    appropriate modifications as necessary.
  • Coordinate and prepare instructional materials for various training and development
  • Plan, coordinate and execute various learning and planning practices.
  • Perform other duties
    as assigned.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the training field and recommend effective training ideas for implementation.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Three years of professional experience
designing and executing training programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office
applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)

Proficiency in personal computers and related office

High level of accuracy in work.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited

Direct academic advising experience in a higher education environment.

Demonstrated ability to work
independently and as part of a team.

Excellent presentation skills.

Demonstrated experience in managing multiple

Experience conducting virtual training sessions.

Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning

Experience as a proactive self-starter.

Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and

Experience assessing and evaluating training programs.

Experience with video conferencing software.

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
