As a Network Software Engineer, you will work with Intel Bangalore DPG/NPG Software development team to deliver network drivers for next generation communications platforms that will enable tomorrow’s path breaking network architecture. You will be based in Bangalore as a member of a talented team of software engineers with a broad range of experience. Performs network product design, development, testing, documentation, and analysis of software applications. Assignments include development of new programs and subprograms, as well as, enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software. Duties include designing application, writing code, completing programming and developing and executing testing and debugging routines, and documenting work and results. May be responsible for developing or executing project plans, budgets and schedules and for documentation of work and results. These positions develop software applications for external customers.
Minimum qualifications: – B. Tech in CS/EE/EC with 7+ years or M. Tech with 4+ years of software development experience. – Excellent knowledge of C/C++ programming, especially in developing multi-core or multi-threaded software. – Strong developer level knowledge of Linux/other operating system. – Strong networking/protocol concepts. – Good problem solving skills coupled with a strong aptitude to learn. – Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multisite team. – Self-starter with ability to follow up and close opens. Preferred skills: – Linux kernel/user space Device driver development – Development experience in DPDK – Experience in optimizing software for performance, scalability, security. – Networking technologies and protocol stacks e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP. – Virtualization technologies and developing in a virtualized environment. – Good understanding of Intel Architecture/x86 or other multi-core processor. – Open Source Software Development. – Agile Software development methodology experience. – Source control management tools e.g. GIT. – Experience with quality assurance tools e.g. GerritInside this Business Group
