General Statement of
While Adhering to all current CDC recommendations, Counselors will provide guidance, instruction and supervision of
students ages 6 -18 years old in accordance with Mount Wachusett Community College’s educational goals, standards, and health & safety
regulations. Counselors will work alongside our team of instructors and management to plan, prepare and conduct age appropriate lessons and
hands-on activities. Counselors will lead explorations, stories, crafts, nature games, large motor activities and with a focus on science,
math, technology, engineering and leadership. Programs focus on educational and team building activities on a daily basis.
- Protect the physical and emotional welfare of students, fellow staff, and
- Work with peers to develop and teach lesson plans and prepare materials as needed;
- Maintain an organized work
environment and participate in daily cleaning tasks;
- Assume additional related duties as requested;
- Visually identify safety
issues related to daily operation;
- Monitor student groups in all types of environments (indoors, outdoors, large and small groups)
and listen for key safety concerns and alerts;
- Navigate, run, and play and easily access all areas of MWCC;
address and communicate with students, parents/guardians and other staff.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old by June 20, 2021;
- Be available June 20
– August 10, 2021 for various times, Monday-Friday;
- Have experience and enjoy working with children;
- Have a strong interest
in math, science, technology, engineering, large motor and outdoor education;
- Show ability to design and implement lessons including
games and crafts;
- Have experience leading youth groups independently and be organized and self-motivated;
- Have experience

- Candidates must be flexible with hours and changes that
occur daily and creative in planning;
- Certifications in CPR (child and
adult levels) and basic first aid- current;
Status: Part Time Temporary
Hours per Week: Not to exceed 18 hours per week
Number of Weeks: 1-8
