Academic Coach (Monroe Campus Learning Center)

Summary:

Part-time (approx. 10-20 hours per week) Academic Coaches meet with students on a one-on-one basis to help each student achieve success in college. Common areas of focus include acclimation to the college environment and faculty expectations, goal setting, academic skills, study strategies, and time management. Academic coaches participate in ongoing training and development through CRLA certification and focused training opportunities and may also facilitate group workshops, collaborate with faculty and staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a regionally accredited Institution required. Previous experience in academic coaching, academic advising, tutoring, teaching, counseling, or another area related to supporting student success in an educational setting required. Master’s degree preferred. Knowledge of common challenges encountered by community college students, student learning and development, and strengths-based advising preferred.
