JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to partner with the business by ensuring the formulation, articulation and communication of HR strategy, in line with business strategy. Also ensuring development and implementation HR practices and processes that will help achieve the HR strategy and hence contribute to the business strategy.

  • Key Responsibilities

•    Provides support and input into the organization’s annual financial plan & budget
•    Works towards achieving the business plan of the human resources function within the budget
•    Ensures creation of a strategic plan for HR and lay out a roadmap for implementation in line with the business strategy and employee needs
•    Ensures an appropriate organization structure for the organization in response to the changing business environments
•    Ensures manpower availability in line with business needs
•    Plans & manages manpower costs and finalizes talent acquisition budgets in coordination with business    heads & finance.
•    Ensures positive return on investment for strategic HR initiatives.
•    Provides strategic advice to the management team on people management to improve business results through people.
•    Leads the design of a corporate compensation & benefit scheme for the organization which is competitive and attracts/ retains the best of talent.
•    Creates a culture of enhancing internal customer satisfaction within the organization through continuous improvement in delivering services to employees.
•    Builds and maintains relationships with business/ department heads so as to understand their needs and to ensure that they are fully informed of HR objectives, purposes & achievements
•    Builds and communicates the employer brand to attract, retain and develop best talent in the industry.
•    Designs and Implements enablers for creating a High Performance Workforce
•    Develops and maintains transparent HR policies & practices that build a positive work environment, promoting an organization culture that support the business strategy and company values.
•    Designs and implements reward and recognition programs
•    Defines and implements annual performance evaluation process and timelines.
•    Defines, develops and institutionalizes a corporate succession plan and development of talent pipeline within the organization.
•    Ensures compliance to all applicable laws and statutes
•    Liaises with external bodies as required
•    Ensures development implementation of other policies , processes and  guidelines provided by the business from time to time

•    Employee satisfaction and engagement index.
•    Percentage turnover in the organization.
•    HR cost per employee.
•    Managers covered under a succession planning program.
•    Percentage of HR plan implemented as per timelines and quality parameters.
•    Negative variance from budget

  • Qualifications and Experience

PG Diploma/MBA in Human Resources with an overall experience of 10-12 years. Should have been in a leadership role within human resources for a medium sized company for more than 7 years.

  • Skills Required

•    Knowledge of global best practices in the area of human resource development.
•    Functional knowledge of all core HR areas like recruitment, manpower planning, performance              management, compensation & benefits, succession planning and training.
•    Working knowledge of employment legislation and the management of employee relations issues including practical experience of managing grievances.
•    Leadership skills.
•    Strategic orientation.
•    Business acumen and exposure to all areas of the business model.
•    Management skills.
•    Communication skills.
•    Interpersonal skills. A team player who generates enthusiasm and builds effective working relationships.
